No experience necessary. Brand new players or even competitive tournament players are welcome to join!
10 minutes of practice play. 20 minutes of engaging lesson. 5 minutes of activity related to lesson. 20 minutes of tournament time.
When: Tuesday mornings 8:00am - 8:55am
Dates: September 30 - December 9 (no class on November 11)
Where: Bennett after school care area (door to the right of the main school entrance)
Cost: $220 (10 sessions)

Who should attend Chess Club and why?
Beginners through advanced players are welcome at Chess Club! Make new friends while learning chess skills and practicing together each week. Chess has been proven to improve focus and critical thinking! In our classroom, chess is also a fun game where we build confidence, socialize, and practice sportsmanship.
What will students learn in Chess Club?
We will adjust each Chess Club to the students who attend to make sure all players learn! Beginners will learn chess fundamentals from castling to checkmate. We will learn tactics and checkmate patterns to build confidence finishing a game. We may even learn advanced tournament skills while learning from famous chess games!
