What is the Walkathon?
The Walkathon is one of our biggest and most fun school traditions! Students raise money for Bennett PTSA by collecting donations from family, friends, and neighbors—all while getting active by walking, jogging, or running laps around the playground. Classes and students compete to see who can raise the most money and walk the most laps. It’s fitness, fun, and fundraising all in one!
Funds support:
• Exciting field trips and hands-on learning — We explore beyond the classroom with unforgettable experiences that spark curiosity.
• Top-notch classroom tools and resources — From books to tech, we supplement classroom needs to help our kids learn, grow, and thrive.
• Fun events that unite us — Multicultural celebrations, math & science challenges, family engagement nights, field day.
• Powerful Support, Right When It’s Needed — Each year, Bennett receives a major grant from PTSA tailored to meet the school’s most pressing needs. Decided each spring, these funds often boost staffing by offsetting the cost of essential school aids—making a real impact where it counts.
How to Join the Fun:
Collect Donations – Ask friends and family to support the school. Walk, Jog, or Run as many laps as you can on Friday, October 3rd, during recess and after school (3:30–5:30pm).
Wear Your Walkathon T-shirt & Lap Card (given out in class on event day).
Win Prizes! The more laps and funds raised, the more chances to win!
Stay for the Pizza Party! 🍕 Purchase pizza and treats (cash or card) after school during the event.
How to Collect Donations
1. Parents - Register Your Student on 99Pledges —
Name = child’s first and last name. Email = parent’s email.
Without adding your child, you will not be able to accept donations online.
2. Share Your Fundraising Page
Friends and family can donate a flat amount directly on your child’s page: 99Pledges Walkathon — search for your child’s name, once added
3. Spread the Word – Share the link or QR code with neighbors, grandparents, and friends.
4. Corporate Matching – Don’t forget! Many employers match donations or give for volunteer hours. Remember to log both for “Richard Bennett Elementary PTSA”. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (EIN = 91-1067689).
🎯 Goal: $450 per student (any amount is welcome and appreciated!).

Everyone gets a t-shirt and prizes for turning in their lap card!
50+ Laps: A trip to the WATER SPRAY station and blast a staff member or volunteer! (after school)
75 & 100 Laps: Prizes and recognition at the Awards Assembly.
Top Fundraisers: Principal for the Day!
Top Fundraising Classes: Win a pizza party, extra recess, and more!
Raise $450: Enter to win special prizes including Bennett swag, autographed Seahawks football, Mariners tickets & more!
GOAL
If we collectively as a school reach our fundraising goal of $100,000, we’ll celebrate with a School-Wide Evening GLOW DANCE PARTY in the gym!
